By coincidence and perhaps through some early collaboration between researchers across the ocean, the ISO factory model [8, 9] based FirstSTEP closely resembles the CIMOSA modeling approach. Interfacing Technologies maintains a group of researchers collaborating with groups like CIMOSA, PRIMA and other research institutes, including, whenever possible, similar research groups at other leading software organizations.
